Nitrile rubber can tolerate short term dry running of the sealing lip. The operating temperature range without failure of nitrile rubber is 40 to +100 C. Well built
Well made product. I have an volvo xc60 and it fits the oil filter housing perfectly but because of its thickness, there's some interference with the heat shield or it could be part of the skid plate assembly that is next to the filter housing.
