Made to be fastened with butt at the end of the tang. 12C27 stainless steel blade. Blade design was originally used for the Polar knife and has also been used for the Algonquin. Good bowls

These hold up for what I need them to. My child uses them for everything. Have used them for food and cereal. Like that they are good size almost like the plastic ones I have. Put water in them for the cats outside and they held up for a day or so. You get a lot for what u order.
