Nitrile rubber can tolerate short term dry running of the sealing lip. The operating temperature range without failure of nitrile rubber is 40 to +100 C. Didn’t fit but I made it fit.
The part appears decently made in China. The end that terminates below the oil filter would not mount (too tight). I gently sanded the o-ring groove, lubricated and I put the part in freezer. After two hours of sanding the groove I got the part seated. Good thing I was patient today. Pain in the butt.
